I’m going to be honest with you, when it comes to skin care, I was the type of gal that did it for a while and then completely forgot about it, kicking it to the side. Needless to say, this was not the most effective method to treat my acne. Why pimples? Why did you have to chase to me into adulthood? So when I added “stick to a good skin care routine” on my NYE resolutions, I was scared! I mean, will I be able to do it and come out victorious on the other side?

Well yes, yes I did, and the truth is, you can too. Best of all, it doesn’t have to be difficult at all. You just need a plan, a list and a little bit of commitment, and you are all set.

How to keep your skin care routine consistent.

  1. Have a checklist to guide you:

The truth is, depending on your memory is not the best bet when you are trying to establish and stick to a skincare routine, so go the old-fashioned way and get a checklist like this one that reminds you of every part of the process.

  1. Set a schedule

Ok, this is the boring part, but stick with me for a second. Set a schedule, make it your morning thing or your nighttime ritual, or whenever you have time for it. But committing to set times of your day will make staying consistent much easier.

  1. Pick easy-to-use products that are supercharged

If you are lazy like me, then a complicated, one-million step routine is probably not for you, so focus on easy to use and supercharged products that get you the results you want. I especially love to use Differin® Gel. It is the first and only prescription-strength retinoid now available over-the-counter for clearing and preventing acne. It’s the newest advancement and ingredient in the OTC acne category in over 30 years! It has a long-standing heritage as a proven acne treatment but is now in the OTC acne section in the beauty aisle.

Please use caution when using Differin® Gel with more than one acne treatment or glycolic acid product because this could lead to irritation.

  1. Focus on the results:

Remember that part of selecting products that get you the results you want that I told you about earlier? Well this is why. If you focus on the results and you start seeing them fast enough, you are going to get hooked on your skin care routine. It’s as simple as that. I love Differin® Gel because it clears breakouts where they start (deep in the pores), prevents breakouts before they begin, and as a result, restores skin’s texture and tone, so you actually see results in all the levels, which is amazing. And while the results are going to come fast, you want to keep using Differin® Gel as part of your skin care routine, even after your skin looks clear, to help prevent future breakouts. Remember, Differin® Gel is different than a spot treatment, so apply a thin layer all over your face, once a day, every day for best results.

And that’s how I managed to stay on track with my skin care routine, tackle one of my new year resolutions, and come to the other side with clear, bright skin. I guess we can call it a win-win situation.

So, get the checklist and go to your closest Target to purchase Differin® Gel! You can also go to Differin.com to get $2 off Differin® Gel and use it on your next shopping trip to Target!
