Just the Facts –
The German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz may be better known for making some of the fastest and most luxurious automobiles in the world, but being a brand that carries with it a certain up-market persona, its collection of lifestyle accessories have certainly grown in popularity, and now stretch from classic and modern day Mercedes-Benz scale models, to Mercedes Motorsport inspired Fashion wear, and even some exotic AMG branded merchandise.
Mercedes-Benz is expanding its product line. The German luxury automaker has introduced a men’s fragrance with the catchy moniker – Mercedes-Benz Perfume. The fragrance, which combines woody notes with hints of floral, hits selected specialty retailers in the first quarter of 2012, as an eau de toilette, after shave, deodorant and shower and body gel.
Renowned perfumer Olivier Cresp of Firmenich developed the fragrance. His scent trail, er, resume includes more than 50 prestigious perfumes. They include: Karl Lagerfeld Kapsule Woody; five different Nina Ricci scents; Versace Man Eau Fraiche; Christian Dior Dune Pour Homme; Dolce et Gabbana Light Blue; Avon Today; three Antonio Banderas scents, including Blue Seduction for Men; and Valentino Valentina.
Cresp describes the Mercedes scent as having a cool top note that features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin. The middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon, pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass and patchouli.
True to the Mercedes-Benz style, the bottle design is masculine, modern and even elegant.
This isn’t the company’s first foray into the world of fragrance. It also offers perfumes in its Maybach models and in the Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman.
I didn’t know that mercedes has a perfume. I drive a mercedes myself and the perfume would be a wonderful addition.
